Our Team's Fav Local Food Spots

Whether you live in Hawai'i or plan on visiting, here's our favorite local to O'ahu food places we recommend visiting while you are on island!

1. Chef's Ramen - Honolulu, Hawai'i

Recommended by Ashley, Creative Assistant

This is a local mom-and-pop ramen place that specializes in food that'll warm your soul. They have great quality ramen along with having some really good sides (I'm partial to their Char Siu Fried Rice). My favorite dish from them is their Pork Belly Ramen. The slices of pork belly they serve are so fatty and savory, the flavor really does melt on your tongue! They also offer a complimentary dessert of Sesame Balls which is a perfect way to end such a heartwarming meal.

If you're looking for a cozy place and are craving noodles, I couldn't recommend this place more!

2. Kountry Style Kitchen - Ewa Beach, Hawai'i

Recommended by Emily, Marketing Director

Hands down the absolute best breakfast spot on the entire island if you're craving some delicious, home-style cooking that's even better than your mom's (if you can believe it!). Personally, I can't get enough of their Garden Eggs Benedict. The holidaze sauce they serve with it is so tasty, it'll have you wanting to lick the plate clean (no shame, I've been there!). And let me tell you, their menu is stacked with mouthwatering options. From their homemade cornbread to their massive banana pancakes that could pass for a medium pizza, and even their four meat loco moco (featuring burger, spam, Portuguese sausage, and smoked meat), they've got it all. Not to mention, the dining area has that cozy, down-home vibe, and the staff is absolutely amazing. Plus, it's worth mentioning that this restaurant is proudly veteran-owned and family-operated!

3. Drive Thru Joe Coffee

Recommended by Angela, Customer Service Specialist

A local spot that has brought joy to the military families and community on Oahu is Drive Thru Joe! I wanted to find a local coffee/breakfast spot that I could fit into my morning routine and feel 10000% good about the quality of coffee/breakfast and who I am supporting. Drive Thru Joe Coffee was founded by Joe Real, USAF veteran in 2017. You can find him and his pup (Lieutenant Beans) traveling to each of his 6 locations on the Island Military installations and all of their personnel is 100% veteran operated as well. You can usually find me and my husband ordering a striker (red bull mango lemonade) in the afternoon or my personal favorites the WTF (what the fluff) WarMachine cold brew! As a mom on-the-go I appreciate the fast drive through aspect but really I enjoy watching them personally craft these quality drinks and sandwiches in person at the window. (I highly recommend grabbing up some unique stickers too for the memories!)

4. Shay's Filipinio Cafe - Waipahu, Hawai'i

Recommended by Colin, Customer Service Manager

This restaurant has all the classic Filipino foods but with a modern take. Everything tastes fresh like it was made just after you ordered it. I always get the Chef’s Special: Adobo Fried Rice Omelette with Lechon Kawali. ...Ube pancakes for breakfast or dessert.

5. Aloha Salads - Mililani, Hawai'i

Recommended by Emily, Marketing Director

When it comes to freshness, they are giving! They first opened in Kailua back in 2006, and now they have a total of 5 locations scattered all over Oahu. I usually swing by the Mililani, Kapolei, or PearlRidge spots, and no matter which one I choose, the quality and service are always top-notch. Their menu offers a wide range of fresh-made salads, sandwiches, wraps, and more. They're dedicated to supporting local farmers and fishermen, ensuring that their customers get the absolute freshest ingredients. Trust me, if you pay them a visit, you absolutely must try their tomato bisque. As a fellow tomato soup lover, I can guarantee you won't find a better one anywhere else!

6. Zippy's - Hawai'i

Recommended by Brandon Goode, Owner & Logistics Executive

Zippys is my fav. Locally owned and changes up the menu to offer specials! My fav is spaghetti and garlic bread and a side donut!

7. Waialua's Lunch Wagon - Waialua, Hawai'i

Recommended by Laura, Creative Director

My all time favorite local spot to grab food on Oahu has to be Waialua's Lunch Wagon! It is right across from a park and on a beautiful day, it is such a treat to grab this delish food and eat outside! While the truck sometimes has uncertain hours (definitely follow their IG!) and sometime sells out quick for the day, their Ahi Katsu and Poke plate is the best you'll ever have guaranteed! Their fish is fresh caught daily, portions are large, and each plate is truly a meal to remember. Some tips - be sure to bring (1) cash since they are cash only and (2) a drink since they only sell the food.

8. Miki's - Pearl City, Hawai'i

Recommended by Camila, Customer Service Assistant

Miki's is one of my fave spot, and they are a must for our busy locals! They are located in Pearl City, open from 8pm-3am, and perfect for a late night craving! They serve the delicious Teri Meatballs with of course the side Mac Salad. You have to try their famous Kalua Pork, my fav!! The owners are filipinos, so of course can't forget the authentic filipino dishes, such as Pork Adobo! The service is reay good and fast, and because the food is soo ono, I go at least once a week!

9. Shokudo Japanese - Honolulu, Hawai'i

Recommended by Mike, Production Assistant

So a favorite place I like to go and sit down to eat is Shokudo which is next to Ala Moana. I'm a sucker for Japanese food and sushi, particularly nigiri. But my absolute favorite thing to have from Shokudo is the Honey Toast. 🤤 One thing that always needs to happen at @shokudojapanese and that's ordering Honey Toast. #HoneyToast #bestdessertever

10. Phở Five-O - Aiea, Hawai'i

Recommended by Emily, Marketing Director

Serving up some of the greatest and speediest Vietnamese food on the island. This place is mine and my husband’s go-to for the ultimate weekend dinner plans. It's a family-owned joint that's been around for quite a while, and they're known for their friendly staff and their Pho that's to die for. Personally, I always opt for their Vegetable Pho, while my husband is obsessed with their Combination Pho.
